I believe change is possible! I am committed to going on this journey of change with you and removing the stigma, shame, and secrecy from sexuality and sexual trauma. As your therapist I am a part of your team. My goal is not to change you or fix you, because you are not broken, but to support you in gaining the tools you need to live authentically and define your truth. Together, we understand the elements in your life or relationships that are causing you distress and how this distress affects you on a day-to-day basis. My role as your counsellor is to establish safety for everyone in the room. I "hold the space" so you can feel free to be honest & vulnerable and get all that you can from the counselling experience. I am an unbiased perspective to objectively take in your story and reflect back what you bring into the room.

I utilize a trauma-informed, anti-oppression, decolonizing, sex-positive framework. Those are a lot of intense words that more simply mean: we look at everything in a context. We do not exist in a vacuum. What we have learned about ourselves and how we relate to others comes from what we have been taught in our families, our communities, and largely, society as a whole. This includes our relationships to our own sexuality and sexual identity. Together we analyze these messages with curiosity and compassion to question if they are indeed helping you succeed in the areas you want success.

My practice includes work with individuals, traditional, and non-traditional relationship structures my areas of focus are: healing from trauma, intimate partner violence, sexual assault and childhood abuse, racism & discrimination, cultural differences within relationships, identity exploration, personal empowerment, confidence and self-worth, sexual expression & intimacy, sexual insecurity & safety, establishing healthy boundaries & navigating power dynamics, relational conflict & communication, the impacts of trauma and mental health within relationships, psychoeducation and enrichment.

When I’m not working I am a learner in every sense of the word. I love to read and consume content and information. I am a sister, a friend, a daughter, and a cat aunt ☺ I am a crafter and painter and I love to toil and create.

I identify as a cis, heterosexual, Black American female settling in Canada.

I acknowledge that my work and residence takes place on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-waututh) Nations.
