Hello, and welcome!

I chose to work in sex therapy because I believe that sex and sexuality play a significant role in our lives, our relationships with ourselves and others, and our mental health. With this in mind, my approach to our work together is grounded in holistic practice where I meet you where you are, and together we work towards where you would like to be.

As we work together, I strive to create a space that is safe, strengths-focused, and sex positive, where you feel empowered and comfortable to explore and take risks together. While this may seem simple, the path to achieving your goals won’t always be linear, and so I aim to hold a balance of space where we can acknowledge and work through the challenges and difficult emotions, but also celebrate the wins and progress together.

Sex can be a difficult topic, and our expression of sexuality may be molded or suppressed by stereotypes, culture, dominant messaging, or other influences. My intention is to provide an environment in which you feel free to express yourself in whatever ways are true to you, without fear of bias or pressure to think or exist in a specific kind of way.

My approach to therapy comes from an Emotion-Focused perspective, where I aim to learn alongside you about the ways in which you experience, recognize, and react to your emotional world. I also integrate some somatic and mindfulness practices where they may resonate with you, in order to allow room for flexibility as an individual. I do not believe that what is best for one person is best for all!

Regardless of detail, I bring a trauma-informed approach and a social justice lens to the work that we do together, and I will always remain free of judgement in our sessions.

Outside of therapy, I spend much of my time outdoors; hiking, biking, or walking my dog in and around Vancouver. I also enjoy visiting my neighborhood coffee shops and bringing a good book with me on a rainy day.
