Hey there! I would be grateful to support you in your process, one which can involve constant learning and unlearning, holding on to and letting go, experiencing joy, pain and other emotions, all at the same time; this is the essence of the human experience. I will bring my warmth, compassion and curiosity to our sessions while we work together in getting you closer to your goals and creating a life that feels aligned with your intentions and values.

I identify as an integrative therapist, which means I combine ideas and techniques from different therapeutic schools of thought in order to tailor our sessions to your needs. The human experience is so rich and complex that there is no such a thing as a one-size-fits-all approach. I place a lot of importance on bringing our awareness to the present moment, and listening to our bodies and emotions as a way of receiving messages that can give us clues on how to move forward. For that same reason, all symptoms and emotions are welcome — If we listen closely enough while practicing self-compassion, they might tell us just what we need.

If I had to choose one word to describe what I have learned is most important for our mental health, that word would be CONNECTION. Our connection to ourselves, our connection to others, and our connection with our environment is vital to have fulfilling lives and to feel safe in this world. As Gabor Mate would say, “Safety is not the absence of threat, but the presence of connection”. Human brains are wired to connect with others. Just like babies who need to remain in contact with their caretakers in order to feel safe to explore, adults feel more confident and calm when they build strong, nurturing bonds with their romantic partner(s) and allow space for the possibility of interdependence in our relationships.

One way of feeling connected and/or increasing intimacy with others is sex. Sadly, there is a lot of stigma and taboo around this topic, which tends to provoke guilt and shame within us. I was raised in a very conservative environment in which I internalized a lot of beliefs that weren’t conducive to a satisfying sex life. Because of my personal experience, I understand the value of dismantling beliefs that are not serving us anymore, and replacing coping mechanisms that we have outgrown. Since I believe everything is political, I consider that sex therapy through a sex-positive lens, is a way of doing pleasure activism.

Outside of work, I love meditating, reading, going to artistic/cultural events, dancing, being in nature and cooking vegan food. I live with my partner and my two dogs, Emilia  and Lupita.

I identify as a heterosexual, cisgendered, Latinx woman, and I consider myself privileged to work and live on the ancestral and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
